Why change is needed

Why we need to change the way we deliver services.

What our doctors and clinicians say

We are not shutting one hospital or one department (in the proposed changes). What we would be doing is making one purpose built emergency centre for the people of Huddersfield and Calderdale. As well as that we'll have facilities on both sites to attend to the patients that attend A&E as it is now, in an Urgent Care Centre on each site.

When we look at the staff we're trying to attract - but also keep here in Calderdale and Huddersfield - this will move us to having a really specialist centre that will attract more doctors, more nurses and more therapists that will want to come and work in these hospitals.
