Next Steps

After a fourteen week period, the public consultation on the proposed future arrangements for hospital and community health services has closed and we are now moving to the next stage.

The Governing Bodies of NHS Calderdale and NHS Greater Huddersfield CCGs each decided unanimously at the meeting in public in parallel held on 20 October to proceed to explore implementation of the proposed changes in a Full Business Case.

We would like to thank everyone who took part in the consultation – all those who attended our 17 information sessions, three public meetings, sessions for schools and colleges; the representatives from our GP practices and other community meetings; the 2000 people we talked to over at our events; and the 7,582 people who completed the survey and provided their views.

Next steps:

We now need to take time to look at the next steps needed to take forward the Governing Bodies decision and we will be updating the information on this page as soon as possible as well as our FAQs.

However, this next stage is an important step where we will be developing the detail and exploring how we take forward and look to implement the proposed changes as well as address concerns raised such as travel and transport.

As part of this we will continue to work closely with our partners and key stakeholders to support us in developing the full business case.

You can listen to the CCGs’ Chairs Drs Alan Brook and Steve Ollerton talking about the decision and how this will improve health outcomes for residents of Calderdale and Greater Huddersfield in our video below:
